Penguin Cupcakes

While home visiting the last couple weeks my mom, sister, and I whipped up these cuties for my niece's 1st birthday. While they were far from perfect, with the supplies we had on hand and the short amount of time we had to do them we all thought they turned out super cute!

And really Madison could have cared less about how they looked she devoured those puppies!

And check out these adorable blue beauties, red hair and blue eyes... with an attitude to match this girl is gonna be trouble... watch out mom and dad :)
Our inspiration came from here, but check out these cuties here, or this huge cupcake display here, or this collection here, or these way-too-perfect cupcakes here. And if these aren't enough for you just use google image search for penguin cupcakes and you'll find cupcakes that'll make your jaw drop!

{Save the Date}

My lil' sis gets married this weekend... yay! Needless to say, I've got last minute wedding projects coming out my ears! So to take a little break from the long list of projects that still need to be done, I'll blog about the Save the Dates I made 6 months ago!

Aren't they fun and so cute?!

She found the idea somewhere, have no idea where (sorry can't give credit where credit is due! I've searched but can't haven't had any luck finding her source.)

Coffee Drink Cup Cozy Sleeve

What's with the random use of adjectives in the title you ask? Well as a tribute to my good friend, greatly missed roomy, and brother-in-law Shawn, I think that is the phrase he might use to describe this project! Well any way you put it, it's an adorable way to sip that yummy drink you love so much. This cup cozy replaces those cardboard sleeves the energetic Starbucks employees throw on your drink to protect your little fingers from the scorching hot cup. It also works great for keeping your fingers warms while sipping a nice cold refreshing drink.
Those who ordered the Anna bag received one of these cuties for FREE! :) I've still got one bag left for anyone who doesn't want to miss out on the freebie. But if the Anna Bag just isn't in your budget right now, you can order a cute Coffee Cozy, or 2 or 3, or however many you like. They are for sale individually for $5.99 or 2 for $10.

You can find them in my ETSY shop by clicking here.

Simplicity Hobo Style

Simply put... my life calls for simplicity right now.

So enough of my empty promises, here it is...
The super fun, can't wait to get it onto my shoulder, flower hobo purse! I think we'll call her the 'Anna bag' for now... why Anna you ask? Umm... keeping with the simple, it's the first name that came to mind! You've got a better one? Great! Let me hear it! :) Until then, we'll stick with 'Anna bag.' Complete with her cute little knot in the strap and her cute little flower on the side... doesn't she just make you want to smile! :)
You may remember this bag from here. Well I used mine day in and day out, and figured out what worked and what didn't work, made a few adjustments and ta-da...

Here's your chance to get yours now, for a super low price of $26.00! For the first 3 bags I sell, there will be a fun little extra included in your bag. Just click on the "email me" link to your left and let me know you want one.

And if the 'Anna Bag' just isn't quite your style or prefer something a little bigger... i.e. diaper bag style. Just let me know your preferences and I'll whip one up for you :)

Mr. Orange, meet your new best friends...

Mr. Orange, meet Mr. Green and Mr. Brown... your 2 new best friends.

Seriously, it only gets cuter (of course only until the bright pink cast makes its appearance, but we'll just pretend we don't see it because we are so distracted by the absolute-over-the-top-adorable brown boots... or I should say boot. :) I've got enough supplies left to make 1 more of these puppies for $16.00... email me (link to your left) with your request and size.

Throw pillows

New couch = New throw pillows right? I just can't have my first brand new couch without showing it some throw pillow love! And buying from a store just wouldn't be enough when these great comfy pillows from IKEA are just waiting to be covered.

So I geared up at Joann's with a neutral brown fabric I love and well, we're about to take off, I just finished the hobo bag I've been working on... only a week late and yet to be added to the store, but I've got the crafty itch so I'm gonna stick with it 'til the pillows are done. The first 2 will be easy, cut, iron, sew, and stuff.
The second 2, I can't wait to do, but will be more labor intensive. This is what I was thinking...
Are you totally in love? Cause I am!

Knitting Bag Set

Here it is!The knitting needle roll
with pockets for needles and a flap to tuck needles under...

and the yarn/project holder which has a handy strap to slide over your wrist while knitting
It was a fun set to make because I made them from scratch without a pattern, the bag and the roll turned out how I had planned, but with some struggles the yarn bag (essentially a 'drawstring' bag), turned out even better then I had envisioned... gotta love that!

My First Bag: Hobo Style

I'm so stinkin' proud of myself, I'm almost bursting at the seams! I was so intimidated to try this, but it was much easier then I thought. I followed the wonderful "How-To" at www.jcarolinecreative.com she has so many great how-to's and tips I lOve her site. Click here for the link directly to the Hobo Bag.

Zipper application... scares the you-know-what out of me, but with jcaroline- piece of cake! Seriously! I wish patterns gave you great tips like this!

I loved the bag, but it was a little plain, so I added some dimension with this super cute fabric flower. Officially my favorite purse of the week! Now go make one for yourself!

Paper Creations

Sewing hasn't completely taken over here, I may be collecting fabric like a collected paper, but I've made a commitment to stop buying until I have used what I have. (this was after a late night run to Hancock fabrics where I went in for a pink fat quarter and some elastic, but ended up with a couple other fat quarters and some other random hardware for some 'really want to do' projects!) So even though I haven't touched my scrapbooking stuff more then a couple times since we moved... here are a few of my creations from before we left good ol' Washington.

I {lOvE} this card one of my favs, when I get sick of sewing, all do a little tutorial on how to do the edge, way fun and way easy!
I had an idea in my head and this was one of those have-to-do-it-right-now projects! I wasn't overly excited about the assembled finished product, but was really excited about the flowers, which were the have-to-do-it-right-now project!
It's difficult to tell from the pics, but the flowers (stampin' up pick-a-petal) are stamped on a really thick transparency (sorry I can't remember what they are actually called!) using white Stayz On Ink. I attempted to use my white stampin' up craft ink initially, but after a phone consult with my stampin' friend Denise, she informed me the craft ink won't dry so you have to use Stayz On Ink. Bummer. I didn't have any. Later that day there was a knock on my door... guess who! It was Denise! She brought me my very own white Stayz On Ink and cleaner (which is a necessity if you buy the ink!) She is so sweet and thanks to her I got to do my have-to-do-it-right-now project done! So enough of my blabbing here's the flowers :) I love how they turned out!

And lastly here's another little girl page I created...

Hairbow Holder

Somehow in my blogging adventures I came across this fun site where there is a monthly craft challenge. She creates a crafting kit and places the kit for sale in her etsy shop for $5. With the kit you make anything your heart desires using at least one of each of the items in the kit. Then she holds a contest where people vote for the project they like best.

So click here and go vote for the Hair Bow Holder I made. Actually just go vote for the one you like best, but of course it should be mine... :)
